These children faces that I imagine when I play this song. A little girl I met in front of Chua Xa Loi has stayed with me for many years. Now she has grown up and I'm always wondering how her life will be. I met her, at first she was a bit shy after a while I was able to have a conversation with her. I saw she cried so I sat down with her talking to her to wait for her mother to return. I felt hopeless in these innocent eyes. This song dedicated for those innocent eyes. There was a funny story when I posted these pictures on the website, I got an email from American girl asked me that if the boy in the picture was my son. I had a hard time to explain to her about the peddler's boy who sells peanuts to earn a living at the shore.
There are no great things, only small things with great love. Happy are those.

A decade to remember. A decade of broken dream and hope.

It is only a few days we will go into a new decade, Time magazine called the last decade was from hell. The first 10 years of this century will very likely go down as the most dispiriting and disillusioning decade. Today I went for the hair cut and talked to my favorite hair cutter Bob to have his opinion about time magazine about 10 years of hell. He said it is not in hell but very closed with Sept 11. We both agree on that 1980-2000 and the best was 1990-2000 where I came to work in the US under Clinton. So the story is not only how I feel but generally to everyone. I thought Y2K will be terrible but it went without a problem. Here all some pictures I kept since 2000.




As I recall from my perspective, it is the worst years of 2000's we have seen Sep 11, 2 wars: Iraq and Afghanistan. 2 recessions 2002 and 2008(a financial almost wipe out), Asian tsunami of 2004 killed more than 200,000 people...and more. A decade of broken dream or a lost decade, on some degree that I agree. Lost love and found love for me it was bad for me as well. It is common sense when the world we live is not good we will be effected.
To me, the most uncertainly and worrisome the conflict of ideology between the West's ongoing struggle against radical Islam and our recent near-death economic experience by Sep 11 — trends that have largely skirted much of the developing world — it's no wonder we feel as if we've been through a 10-year gauntlet. This conflict is depending so much on Obama's administration. There is fine line to do and not to do in the smart way is so important at least the way I am thinking. It seems China and Brazil have had a pretty good decade economically. On the contrary the genocide in Uganda, the nightmare for Africa. Northern Uganda is the worst place on earth to be a child today, says a former United Nations Under-Secretary General for Children in Armed Conflicts. So we still are the lucky person no matter what happen unless you live in Uganda. Think about it we still are the fortune.

In large part, we have ourselves to blame. If you look at the underlying causes of some of the most troubling developments of the decade, you can see some striking common denominators. The raft of financial problems, our war with radical Islam, the collapse of GM and much of our domestic auto industry and even the devastation brought about by Katrina all came about at least in part or were greatly exacerbated by:
• Neglect. Our inward-looking culture didn't heed the warning signs from around the world — and from within our own country — that Islamic terrorism was heading for our shores.
• Greed. Our absolute faith in the markets, fed by Wall Street, combined with the declawing of our regulators to undermine our financial system.

I can not wait to fly away on Valentine's day of 2010 of new decade just to see you and I look forward to that day so much...

Thank God I only had to study English, French and Vietnamese, some of other languages I don't know how to study, they even don't have the system fonts. It seems the languages I know have a meaning of it. French is language of love, today I listen a lot of French music - Chansons de l'amour and I become melancholy. English is practical language specially for Computer terms. Vietnam is my mother tongue language.

Did not write blog for a whie because I was busy

My bad I have tried to write but I had no time it is good to be busy but it is bad when it is too busy and I don't like it. Snow storm for the past few weeks I lost a lot of time to clean up the drive way because I live on the hill so I don't shovel cannot drive the car on to the parking. Summer is good but winter is not good. Snow is beautiful when you have the time to clean it up. I don't mind to shovel the snow in the morning then take the shower to go to work it is relax and exercise at the same.

What I have been up to? something to do the with "Virtual (ao)" it has been a long time when we use different OS(operating system/he dieu hanh) we partition the hard drive so we can put each OS in master boot, therefore when the PC is power up it will ask which OS we want to run.
The old applications can run on linux using WINE application wrapper and for device driver using device wrapper. This way it takes a lot of time to install a new OS.
There is a way which is called Virtual Machine using Virtualbox. I have worked on the virtualbox to create virtual machine - VM (guest OS) on the host machine (host OS). It is easy and flexible to run guest OS as an application like you run Word, and we can run many OS in the host machine the installation is easy if you don't like you can delete guest OS because it is an application. It allows to switch to different OS on the fly. The dual boot machine as before the problem is for every OS we need to install all the device drivers for Video, USB and others again. The virtual machine we don't have to install the device drivers because it runs inside the host machine. The only drawback is all the guest OS depends on the host machine if the host does not work the rest of the host machine will not work. The dual boot approach will work independence between OS. You can see the picture that windows XP and Linux run inside Windows 7.

Can knowledge be measured?

When we grow up we never know that we can measure the knowledge physically. You can measure the activity of people knowledge by looking their bookmarks or the history of their searches on the web. I am using the internet mainly for for my work it is a getaway of information exchange between one or group of people regarding the issues we work. It is a part of our daily job I was so surprised that one error of compile that we make the world can be aware if we accidentally use the software tools with web interface or email we post in our blog or website. Google will pick it up and advertise to the whole world to know. Don't know if it is good or bad. You can type "mai ma co em doi con de thuong" and google will show to you my blog. A lot of people came to know my by the search engine. I try a few keywords and yes in deed. They requested me to write in English, language we share the language is still English.

As you know people does some volunteer work, in the software community we can do the volunteer work spend a part of the time for the think that we love. It is a free software like linux open source is one of it. The problem of open source they are good but no one to maintain the code and it is easy to be out of date unlike Microsoft pays people to work for them to maintain their code. Sometimes it is so frustrated to work in the open source code to know people does not care to release the official release software that does not even compile. After download and spent hours to compile the kernel (OS operating system) and you got the compile errors. The project is huge always needed a group of people to work on it, usually we have a very basic problem like compile. I knew it is so complex after we merge all the branches together the code can break but at least the one who responsible for compiling at least compile to see it went through without the error. It is hard to make a patch when the release version does not match with version has a problem. This is what I have been done a last few days. It is bad to release the software that cannot compile.
This is the reason that most of companies do not want to use linux for their OS because its support is suck, the code can be break by the unmatured developers. If we add all the times that we spend for linux for all the people has involved around the world does it worth? this is the flaw in the linux. I read some comments from people after the upgrade their system won't boot or does not work like the old version and they can not downgrade to the old version the only way it wipes out the disk to reinstall some of them has spent to fix their linux system all of them can be lost in a few minutes when upgraded. There is a comment of one person when do the upgrade quote: "why they put out such a release like a piece of crap"
So it is free open source but if you spend so much time to make it works will it still be free?
Another problem of technology today it keeps change so fast it is impossible to keep track or to read so we tend to read very fast or bookmark it. And at the end either we know everything or we don't know anything in depth. Linux has the same effect because it does not have a good organization and people like Microsoft does.
The knowledge of one person is not how much you know but it becomes how you find that piece of information you are looking for. I have designed in such the way to find that information without interruption in this process by using a lot of computers because PC are so cheap these days and open many browses at the same times make them connected the ideas together. It is a challenge to remember all of these ideas when you move on to the next day. It is impossible to remember it or piece them together when we need it.

I am sorry for not writing for a while because I was so busy for the past few weeks because the software release but I stayed very late to make this video clip just to say that I am sorry. I hope that you like it those pics are very unique to me that I like to share with you. I like to do many things but I ain't got the time to do it. Gosh, I wish a day has 100 hrs or we don't have to sleep so we don't lose 8 hours.
I will continue to write more often, it is midnight now and I upload the video after I made it. What can be better the feeling of satisfaction that I did the background music, the pictures that I took, arranged the pictures so you as the users can understand what I mean. Few months ago no one knew me before I began my journey it is very much like in this video. If you know me because I try and work hard and our faith have led us here. It is rough to describe the feeling but the pictures and the song that I play I hope that you understand a bit of myself. I don't take things for granted and I believe everything in life you have that you must earn by yourself and believe in yourself no matter what happen and never give up your dream. Maybe you fail but at least you try it is a process of growing. There one say to me that if you want to succeed than you need to double your failing rate. I think it is logic in mathematics. Beside marry work and dream are very important in life it feeds us energy and accelerate us to look forward. This is probably why the earth is round so we could not see what in front of us. The future is unknown but we know that we can enjoy what we have at this moment right? that all life is about to me anyway.
In the past few days I read so much to understand the concept of suspend to RAM and suspend to disk. It is overwhelming of the information that I must digest. Consuming a lot of my energy but it is interesting to know the problem in depth. It seems that I can not stop writing the ideas keep coming out like never ended. It is so strange how your mind is working it becomes a habit. I don't want to ease this kind of feeling. This is when you force your mind to cross the boundary, the limit, the conform zone of it. I want to write out this feeling.
Is love addict? yes, indeed. When the 2 people met they chat or talked about something about their life their stories I guess to share and to be shared find someone that understand us and that feeling nourishing in us each day we met and chat. Sometimes I ask you that what you want to hear me singing and play guitar or tell you a true story about myself or teach you something that you don't know. It is so intrigued that you can not make up your mind because you have enjoyed all of them. That is make life interesting and we have drawn into each other until one day we feel missing something if we don't see each other. Missing is a symptom of addicting to love. Addict is to occupy (oneself) with or involve (oneself) in something habitually or compulsively. The way or the degree of missing is autonomously and it is different between us. It depends on the characteristics of each individual, it is kind of silly to ask for the exact feeling like you. The only exception both of us to have the degree of feeling toward something are the same is to lie. We are different this is why we have drawn interest to each other and the way we express our feeling are different. We are 2 puzzles and we put them together we will complete. Therefore, we are different but our goals are the same. I may miss you a lot but I did not want to say out loud because I am a man and that make me to become who I am. We should know more the within of ourselves instead of just a small crack on the surface, the color of the membrane until then you won't know me. I read a lot of philosophy and if you read enough you can become a philosopher too. Buddha is one of my interest reading about life. I came to know from Buddha, it is not how great you are but how you live with your life is critical, what you do with your life is immortal. I believe in karma. The total effect of a person's actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person's existence, regarded as determining the person's destiny. I don't know the existence of karma because I only have one life to live but I do believe it makes you to become a good person and great person like Mother Teresa. I did not go to the church or pagoda but by read the Buddha's philosophy is obvious to clear my path, I understand more about myself and about the surroundings. Either I marry or single I need to have my own space and that is not going to change. A lot of couples fail their marries because they don't have their own space. Although this may seem like an appealing strategy, new research in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science, cautions that there are limitations in the efficacy of unconscious thought making the best decisions.

In order to study and remember, there is a number of way to remember the things that we want to study.
The PQ4R method is a mnemonic technique used for remembering text material. The
name is itself a mnemonic device for the steps involved. If you are interested in better remembering a chapter from a textbook, you should first Preview the information by skimming quickly through the chapter and looking at the headings. The next step is to form Questions about the information. One way to do this is by simply converting headings to questions. Using this article as an example, you might ask, What are the ways to improve memory? The third step is to Read the text carefully trying to answer the questions. After reading, the next step is to Reflect on the material. One way would be to create your own examples of how the principles you are reading could be applied. The next step is to Recite the material after reading it. That is, put the book aside or look away and try to recall or to recite what you have just read.
